Thanks for putting this together. Love the fediverse!

Kbin is supposed to be able to communicate with mastodon and most other softwares on the fediverse, which is why it exists. Definitely needs some tweaking, though, there's like one dev right now.

    sotired,

I know they’re separate accounts but I don’t know why I can’t see the posts on the other one if I can follow the account.

Yeah I believe it's a work in progress situation right now. It's a new world so it's going to be a bit bumpy from time to time.

As far as mobile, there is one in the works but I'm not sure when. He does have a demo up on the website so hopefully soon? In the meantime I'm using the site as a PWA and it works pretty well.

I can confirm on Firefox for Android that kbin works really nice as a PWA!

    nude,

After experiencing reddit on a mobile browser, kbin PWA is fantastic

It’s amazing how much money grabbing is happening right now, but I’m hopeful that it will start a change in the end user that will lead to a better internet. Maybe not now, but someday hopefully!

Apparently it's just one guy running this site!

    Pablo,

    Damn, that's really impressive.

It really is. @ernest has done so much by himself in so little time. I'm hoping people who have the know how will step up and contribute code-wise to the project!

Yep. Just requested mine yesterday. As soon as it comes through, I'll archive it.

I won't delete my account, because if there's a chance my stupid posts and comments can help someone.

    Chad_C_Mulligan,

I've decided that I'm going to throw my toys out the pram.

Delete all the comments, leave it a few months and then delete the accounts.

  • Ratking,

I guess I'm an odd redditor then because I have a habit of regularly checking out people's post history if I find their posts interesting.

I (used to) hang out a lot in smaller subs though where you see a lot of the same names.

I don't think Meta is perfect and they get a lot of flak, but having the development support of employees working at Meta behind building the fediverse might benefit us all

There's a data export page. You need to specify if you're making a GDPR, CCPA, or other type of request. Does that impact the completeness of the data included? Does it impact how quickly it's addressed?

Well... guess they knew better than us! Will be interesting to see if this trend continues in the long term...

That's terrible news. It is only a matter of time before every other streaming service starts copying it!

Lets see how the number s are after all these people free trials end. So in a half a year let's see if the numbers fall, stays or climbs then we will know. Sadly other streaming sites will see this and start implementing a crack down too.

I suspect this is only temporary. Lets see what the numbers are 6+ months from now.

That's a great line. Fabulous article all around, and essentially why I've already pretty much written off Bluesky. I don't see anything there that interests me, and inversely aspects of it bother me greatly

Is there any good place to host this data so people can still search it without having to use reddit?

so people can still search it

See, this is basically why I probably won't delete my Reddit comments and posts.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I'd like to think that I have contributed at least a little bit and been somewhat helpful during my 11 years on Reddit, and I want people to still be able to find whatever they might want to find there, while keeping the context of it alive too.
