Ill Considered & special guests incl. Theon Cross - Precipice (Live)
I was just wondering when Ill Considered might have new music out and here it is, ahead of a single coming out tomorrow. Since their most recent album was their finest yet (in fact it keeps moving up and is entering rare air in my personal hierarchy, I think it is a masterpiece) I'm quite excited for anything new from them.
@exchgr yes, they are part of that very hot UK jazz scene which includes her - they are my favorite group (as opposed to individual artist) from that scene. Nubya is great, so is Yazz Ahmed, Chelsea Carmichael, Theon Cross, Shabaka Hutchings and a seemingly endless list of incredible drummers all raised on grime and breakbeats 🔥 🔥 🔥 best jazz in the world rn is in the UK imo and it's not close
@exchgr yes!!! He had a great album called Black Focus with Yussuf Dayes, and a bunch of cool kinda chill material on his own. Bummer he and Dayes apparently didn't get along, this was one of the best albums of the mid teens and super influential!

I was wondering if Yussef Kamaal would put out a new record given the success of Black Focus. Wasn't aware of their personal differences.
if you EVER have a chance to see him in a small venue, go, regardless of lineup, and go stand right in front of the stage if you can, and let him fucking blast you with that tuba right in the chest. I once stood right in the crossfire between him and Shabaka no more than arm's length from each, you're not easily getting that close to Shabaka anymore but damn that was something!!!
