chrismclay,

@jsnell @imyke

Listening to the podcast about cases. Has anyone done to the old leather cases, what people are doing to the fine woven cases?

I have an old leather case that was damaged by olive oil in a restaurant permanently. I also just ran a fingernail across it and the mark is terrible.

The fine woven case seem to be being held to a much higher standard than the leather cases. People are treating them as solid plastic cases.

@chrismclay @jsnell as Jason mentioned on the show, a beaten leather case looks good. Doesn’t seem to be the case with finewoven

chrismclay,

@imyke @jsnell I don’t think we know yet.

New boots, with a fresh scuff, look awful. They look very different after they’ve collected lots of sweat and dirt and age. You can’t buy a leather boots and age them in a day, (without a lot of work and skill.)

I’m not saying fine woven will look great, but perhaps it was designed to be treated with more care, like people treat leather, rather than just a carbon footprint compromise.

@chrismclay @jsnell sure. But it doesn’t feel like a quality product IMO
