At 3am, the mind at rest should be a verdant meadow with unicorns and otters. Mine is a dim room with loose wire and circuits sparking, smelling of hot metal and melted plastic. At 6, I pour a double shot of espresso into a brass tube, pull the choke, whisper a Hail Mary, and turn the ignition. Alas, I always start back up.
