This was total eclipse number 4 for me, and I remain convinced that the best way to photograph an eclipse is with your eyes, your senses, and your brain. It's an experience, not just an image.
That said, I'll be posting my finished photo of it in the next day or two.
I set up the tripod with the framing I wanted and took a total of five or six exposures, and spent most of the precious 3 minutes of totality just soaking it all in.
@mattblaze Based on your comments before the eclipse and similar comments from some others, I did something similar for my first totality experience. I had a tripod set up and did take a few shots, but spent most of the three minutes just looking around taking it all in. It was amazing!
