@comicslibrarian Wow. In a heartbeat, that bills goes from masturbation and nudity—things LOTS of teens already know about—to "flagellation or torture by or upon a person who is nude or clad in undergarments, a mask or bizarre costume."

Of course, any kid with an internet connection can find all that and more in seconds, but god forbid an adult-curated library that helps kids understand these things in context exists on the public dime.

@wordshaper It's a weird moment in NJ. Progressives won elimination of the "county line" in primary ballots (the design gave county political parties incredible power over who wins primaries), and Senator Menendez is being tried for being corrupt, but at the same time, he was so corrupt because that's NJ, and at the same time the legislature is consolidating power by being more secretive. So, despite progress, our corrupt reputation is getting a LOT of air time right now.
