Game idea: God game where individuals gain skills and experience... then indirectly pass it down to the next gen depending on how effectively they expose their young to risk and opportunity. The mechanics of life are just the environment... the skill is how to grow the group in the face of constant birth of innocense and death of wisdom.

I'm so utterly sick and tired of going through security checks... changing passwords... installing authenticators... typing 6 digit numbers... finding my old phone to confirm my ID... it's just remorseless. The old internet was much nicer than this mess.

I think I've reached the point where I'm simply not interested in any mini-series pumped out by Netflix et al. Even ones recommended to me are slow paced, shallow plotted time-sinks that rely too much on SFX and treat the viewer as cattle with endless spare time to 'fill'. I boot up Netflix or Disney or Prime and just scroll past pages of mee-too nonsense, tired old franchises and predictable filler.

Life is too short... fill it with quality stuff that makes you happy. You're not missing out.

Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040 Series) is now out of pre-order and into normal ordering! Many configurations ship directly from inventory within a few business days, and all ship within two weeks. October and November were both record months for us for factory output.

Started having a go disassembling Mercenary for C64... very interesting game so far. It's not just a blob of binary which runs... this thing is engineered.

    @Foxysen it's not perf critical... just playing wih a few ideas using Godot. If I need perf later I'll convert it to a C++ extension.

    DWARF FORTRESS THREAD

    I finally started playing Dwarf Fortress last night and l already found some cool things, like getting the visit of this guy "Nisam Ngersoslotash, Plump Helmet Man Pikeman".

    He was "deeply impressed by my tables. The memory of how my tables are ordered is deeply rooted in his memory". So now he's just sticking around in the Dining Room, like forever?
