#TuneTuesday "Talk" is an #Ottawa -area performer probably best known for his song "Run Away to Mars". On Sunday, he won the award for breakthrough artist of the year at the #Junos.

The song I like from him is "A Little Bit Happy".

I've had a pretty bad cold for more than a week now, perfectly coinciding with a week where I actually had very enjoyable social things to do almost every day, which I usually have zero of in a given week, these days. I had to back out of every single one.

The worst part is that I have no idea where I got the cold, since I don't actually go out most of the time, except work (on a bike, then in a nearly-empty office) and errands (this time in a car, alone, to non-busy places). Ridic.

I had to carry my old desktop PC, monitor, keyboard and mouse down to the living room this afternoon. Long story.

My 10 days of rest are officially over. I'm on vacation today so I can start again on Monday.

Do I feel better? Somewhat. Am I incredibly lucky to have been able to take two weeks off, paid? Most definitely.

I'm going back for about two weeks, then mini vacation for the eclipse and then a new assignment! I'm really hoping it will help me reset even more.

Damn, my Pixel 7 Pro greeted me this morning with a boot loop. Probably from an update. I can get to the bootloader, but it boot loops even when trying Recovery or Repair mode. Guess it's time for a new phone. Good thing my PIxel 2 still works.

I realize that, at some point, I won't be able to continue working. It'll be extended medical leave and medical retirement. Just don't know when that will be. It'll happen eventually.

So retiring young-ish. A new chapter. A new me?

I don't feel rowdy anymore, so there's no bucket list involving sky-diving or anything like that.

Maybe lawn bowling? Bingo? What do retired people even do?

I am unreasonably annoyed about a friend replacing their busted hot water heater with another traditional, wasteful tank-based hot water heater last week. That shouldn't even be possible anymore.

It was largely led by their (stubborn) partner, who tried to convince both of us that it was more eco-friendly to have it keep the water heated than have to blast gas to get it started all the time. Okay everyone and the gas co say no, but sure, yeah. You're right.
