I just cannot. Someone slyly justifying hostage-taking. Very cleverly doing it, and covering up that it ends with cold-blooded murder.

Taking hostages is a very, very serious war crime. I want to see more complaints about it.

I have spent most of the day getting an old Moen single handle faucet cartridge out. It was ridiculous. And the damn thing was in terrible condition after 25 years. OMG. The new one went in easily.

There is a second one of these in the house. I am terrified.

I bought a gallon of #Incly #epoxy #resin, only to find out it was the same as #Nicpro resin I had been avoiding on account of one experience of being overwhelmed by the candy fragrance. But this time I had no problem, and again it was an excellent resin. I made this tray for the (exceedingly cheap, but barely functional) acacia-wood salt and pepper grinders and am letting the tray harden. (cont'd)

I am amazed at the number of people who have nothing non-dismissive to say about the taking of Jews as hostages.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

There is no clearer war crime than the taking of hostages and their murder.

chemoelectric,

Do you think Nazis were executed on vague charges? They were executed for things like the specific murders of civilians and POWs.

@br00t4c Drum captures the essence he points to the word "invasion" and its DEFINITION.

(Pity few people know the definition of "well regulated" is "properly functioning" and has nothing to do with the imposition of regulations OR with unorganized people possessing guns.)

Smartphones May Affect Sleep--but Not Because of Blue Light

@br00t4c I sleep with a green light beside my bed and sometimes choose a blue light when I sleep elsewhere. I don't buy this blue light stuff. But I may be peculiar on account of my light hypersensitivity.

I bought a gallon of Incly epoxy, only to discover it is the same as Nicpro epoxy that had once stunned me with an overpowering blast of candy-like fragrance.

Well, we'll give it another chance. I have learned to tolerate American stuff that smells like wet socks, after all.

Reading a few tea textbooks right now. :blobfoxread: #TeaFacts

Fukamushi Sencha (深蒸し煎茶) is a type of green tea and is the most commonly consumed tea 🍵 in Japan. It is preferred for its rich taste and full mouthfeel. It is best prepared with 70°C (~158°F) to avoid harsh flavors and excess bitterness...

This explains why just dumping freshly boiled water doesn't work, got it.

Folks, there is no such thing as a "quantum" computer. These are hybrid computers thoroughly incorrectly analyzed. The coherence problem is actually ordinary phase, frequency, etc., coherence in the analog parts.

The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for utter nonsense. The theory it was awarded for is complete crap based on incompetent mathematics.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

What you must open your mind to is simply this:

That the most exalted "brainiacs" of our society may actually be a society of cultists who believe a set of doctrines simply because they are indoctrinated in them.

Quantum physicists are not taught mathematics properly, but instead are indoctrinated in a Holy Language called Quantum Mechanics, which they are taught is the sole language capable of solving certain physics problems.

No such language could possibly exist, mathematically!

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

I can solve the core problem behind the 2022 Nobel Prize (Alain Aspect's experiment with photons) using no Quantum Mechanics. It is a simple problem in probability theory.

I ain't boosting the misbegotten toot that led me to this quote, but this quote is like the scum quotes I used to hear from Binyamin Netanyahu on American TV in the 1980s in what I am guessing were the Menachem Begin years.

I doubt we Jews will ever be rid of these cavemen. For that is what these people are. They are troglodytes.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

Of course Netanyahu himself is not a proper practitioner of Judaism. He sides with these troglodytes for the sake of power.

I didn't see how it got on me and did not see for a while exactly where the burn was. Thanks to referred pain, perhaps. It is midway along the inside of my left thumb. Which already was swollen from both eczema and hives.

🤦🏻‍♀️🤣”Republicans are being trolled after a section on the Republican National Convention's (RNC) website included a picture of Ho Chi Minh City, instead of Milwaukee.

This year's RNC is being held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, next month on July 15. But a Boston Globe reporter noticed Tuesday that the convention's website was using a picture of Vietnam's most populous city on its "News and Updates" page.”

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.

It was vaguely like this with naïve pattern matchers, a while back. That's how come FreeDesktop has a forever-broken and completely unfixable way of selecting fonts.

It is entirely incapable of following the correct rules specified by OpenType. It uses a naïve pattern matcher instead of following the clear specification.

@larsmb @GossiTheDog Of course, at the time that was considered "AI", along with bayesian networks.
