If you are an android user and want to use live chat with visible, you absolutely positively have to use CSR. Talkback won’t even see the send button.

@evilcookies98 Yeah, I just know the Verizon app is not the most friendly with screen readers, and the full bills are inaccessible pdf, and same with most fine print stuff. Hope Visible is not the same on that.

Well, I may have to get a new cell phone number. Thanks to the far right being in the billionaires pockets they’ve cut off the affordable connectivity program and I’m about to lose service. I can’t transfer my number without having an account number and a transfer pin, and I wouldn’t know where to get that if my life depended on it. I’m switching to visible. It cost a little bit more than I’ve been paying, but the service is much better.

@evilcookies98 You should see what actual verizon on a single line plan would cost you, their disability phone is 7 days a week but I do not think visible uses that.

@evilcookies98 Yeah, right now I’m paying about $35/mo for each of our 2 lines, and I think Verizon does lifeline through themselves, but I would have to check. You might be able to get the transfer pin from somewhere on whatever app/site you go to to check your bill, plan, etc.

@evilcookies98 Oh yeah no I get it, I gave up even getting on ACP because I kept having the captcha break and they never would call back or do a thing about it. I was going to fight them but the fiance and I had just had our daughter so it all sorta fell to the wayside, or I’m confusing years and she had just turned 1, I swear the last ~4 years are largely a blur.

I mean nothing horrible by this, so don’t take it that way. Can I please filter the foreign language posts from my timeline? I can’t understand them and they melt my brain, but I like the people who post them and posting in your own language is not an unfollowing offense. That would be stupid if it was.

@zersiax Yeah in theory I can use ours because it's not the smart model, just buttons, cannot read the LED thing but I know it makes sounds when at 0 and goes up in 1min intervals with one of the buttons, and defaults to pressure medium, I think, will have to ask my fiance.

@evilcookies98 @BrailleScreen If it's 15.0 the annual full version number update is usually out in July or so.

@evilcookies98 @BrailleScreen Yeah last few years the xx.0 was early to mid July and the xx.01 was at Android version release. Basically we all get to be guinea pigs for a couple months before the fall update so they can patch before then. Now if the HID braille changes just need the AAS update not the full android update we will have it with 15.0, otherwise that will not be until android 15.

Who else still doesn't have the Find My Device network?

I'm in the U.S., one of the first markets it's supposed to roll out in, and yet I don't. I get pinged by Europeans every day saying they now have it😅

I hope this rolls out in time for me to properly review the Chipolo and Pebblebee trackers.

@simon @mckensie Currently android accessibility suite is compatible back to android 8.0 Oreo for the latest build which includes TalkBack 14.2, the only thing that will not work is android 11 and older non-google devices do not support multi-finger gestures so you only have the 18 one finger gestures to work with.

So fellow #blind #Android folks. I'm not as impressed with my Google Pixel Watch as I thought I would be, and am contemplating switching to a Samsung one. How #accessible are they with #Talkback? I have a #Pixel phone, in case that matters. Thanks in advance!

@TRodick93 From my understanding more, the same set of accessibility issues samsung phones and tablets have vs pixel ones, samsung forks and bloat. @evilcookies98 has one I believe and was talking about getting CSR running on it.

Koodo: We don't take calls anymore, but you can text with our AI and it might see fit to allow you to schedule a callback.
Real person from Koodo: You should log into the online portal for our best plans, I can't give the same promotions.
Me: 💭How do you like your support now?💭
After she reluctantly logged in, we finally got her set up on another $35 plan with 30 GB data. It's still overpriced, but now everyone's happy, I guess.

@simon Yeah I’ve heard, I also have a stack of discounts from loyalty, having both verizon wireless and fios internet, and paperless+autopay, think the discounts are like $85.

Does anybody know where I can get an affordable TeamTalk server for my own use? Mine kind of died like a lot of months ago and now I have no good spots to host movie night. I don’t want to have to sell a kidney to pay for it, but I am willing to pay a reasonable amount of money.
