My daughter said I remind her of Scrooge wearing the pajamas that our.hotel is loaning us. 😂🤣

Day 1 in Japan

Things I knew, but didn't hit home until here:

  • The trains here are epic, my ability to understand the maps is not.
  • Tokyo (and Japan I hear) are late to rise.Toss in a 16 hour time change for me - and I am looking at coffee shops on google waiting for them to open.

I love ignoring a good set of instructions.

hee_nalu,

@ADDiane Good, bad, I'm the guy with the screwdriver.

I am going to watch a drag show tonight and I SUDDENLY HATE EVERY ARTICLE OF CLOTHING I OWN

hee_nalu,

I'm curious if any of you have a rubric for severity of missing detections when reporting issues?

@jerry is something wrong with Pixel? I get a blank screen after logging in under both mobile Edge and Firefox.

hee_nalu,

@jerry @Sidneys1 seeing this kind of stuff is actually one of the things I enjoy about Mastodon.

Two highly technical people nerding out for the common good - who'd be very unlikely to cross paths in their 9-5s.

Sidneys1, to random

Of course one of my most interacted posts ever has a typo I can't edit lol

I really do love travel, but I kind of just want one week when I do not have a half-packed suitcase and a pile of assorted dongles taking up my bedroom floor as a tripping hazard. Also I would like to fly business class one time so I can experience sleeping on a plane that doesn’t involve a red eye and sheer desperate exhaustion.

hee_nalu,

@hacks4pancakes I've never worked for a business that would let me fly business class. :)

I guess I have either worked at "Coach" or "Economy"

Without googling, name a single lyric from the song “can’t touch this” other than “can’t touch this”.

I have a google news alert for “Infosec.exchange” for $reasons and have started getting alerts for news articles where people’s Infosec.exchange posts are cited in the article, similar to how twitter tweets were included in articles. Interesting to see.

hee_nalu,

@jerry are you eligible for a press pass yet?

Hey if you ever need to kill an AI super-intelligence I know a few people with a backhoe and a passion for recycling copper.

@SwiftOnSecurity old but relevant

matthew_d_green, to random

The challenging thing about the current encryption debate is that it leapfrogs so many objections we had to technology like key escrow, and replaces them with new technologies like content scanning — that we barely understand well enough to object to.

hee_nalu,

@matthew_d_green Ah yes, they're applying "grass is greener" logic.

I think this could all be a lot easier if we could all get a solid set of goals from all the stakeholders.

Why does shit fail? Bad requirements.

matthew_d_green, to random

How do you leak an OEM private key for a trusted boot system. What kind of incompetence leads to that key ever being in a place where it can leak. And if that key can leak, what secret keys aren’t going to leak?

hee_nalu,

@wiljosh @matthew_d_green yep.

Brand damage is expensive too.

I wonder if Intel will sue?
