bread from @CommunityKitchenNOLA
pickles dumpstered from Trader Joes
eggs from chickens that live at #LitterBay
pesto that I made from basil grown in a community garden down the street (with dumpstered cheese and mixed nuts recovered from Fresh Market with @divtech)
lettuce grown by my roommate in the garden next to the kichen
hot sauce was the only ingredient included that was bought
Have many friends working in this field and the current places are awful. I know this is also a super dangerous territory but the alternatives are as well.
@seanmunger@timbray how is Nostr intertwined with Truth Social? Truth Social is sadly more intertwined with the fediverse then anything, being that its running on modified Mastodon and Pleroma code...
all these ceos started following me for my fedi influencer status not realizing I am fucking freak who lives on trash and wants capitalism to fucking burn to the ground and we all go back to hunter gatherer jungles and dont have any damn companies left standing
So, one thing that's tricky about moving accounts between servers on Mastodon is that your old stuff doesn't get copied over.
One way to do this is to have the new account re-share all the old account's activities. Very noisy for followers!
Another way that would be cool is if, when you move, the new account creates a collection of the old activities that's navigable from the new account. This would just be a single Create activity, so not very noisy at all.
@evan the harder problem is the interactions WITH the posts. If I move my posts from one server to another, I would expect all the likes and replies to point to the new version of the old post. so simply reposting the content on a new location isnt quite there (tho its better then losing it entirely)
@evan Well I don't want to irritate you by discussing it so I will leave that for another matter. Glad to see you putting your all into fediverse stuff these days and I am 100% on board with the fediverse, I personally find it exciting to see other projects having to tackle some of the same issues we have been facing here for over a decade! I hope we can all get to the place where communal autonomy of our online presence is in sight...
@evan@liaizon I don’t think anything on the Bluesy side is proprietary. As far as I see the only think they haven’t been releasing is their iOS client app. But as far as I can tell everything they are doing else wise is FLOSS
painting the kitchen of my friends house before I move out and head to europe for the summer. here is what the current sich is. ill post the update as a reply after I am done
The cool thing about other-than-Fediverse federated social networks is that it will be a kick in the ass for both Fediverse and the other networks; and will serve to make the underlying protocols better (feature parity, performance etc.).
And who knows, maybe they can be connected together, having documented APIs and all; or there's clients that can do multiple protocols at the same time.
@thomasfuchs been thinking about this a lot lately. I think the new found rush to decentralized social in a bunch of various areas will end up being very good in the longer term, in the present though it can feel very fragmented and somewhat of a waste of energy
@fedistar@liaizon hey @dansup any thoughts on this? seems this is holding back multiple apps from supporting pixelfed and it looks like this goes back 3 years
