Valve really did consumers dirty with the Steam Deck verification badges.
They are slanted in Valves favor. If the game has a high price it's more likely to get the verified badge because valve takes a higher cut

BG3 has a verified badge even though it runs at literally 12FPS and has to be set on 300p to play meanwhile Borderlands 2 has a massive warning because you have to use the touch screen to hit the play button when the game first launches

The fact that you still have to check if a game works even if it has the green badge just means the entire system is pointless
