@jon what's the reasoning for these new stations in the middle of nowhere? funds?
remembers me of some stations near really big cities in Canada or Taiwan, but in rural Latvia and Estonia?

@jon could there be a settlement that every "county" gets a station or something like that? I mean meaningless stations help nobody and slow down the future network? or do they plan to introduce an hourly service so people would do sth like park & rail to commute to bigger cities?

@evelynefoerster @bsm war früher auch Vielflieger und häufiger auf der Strecke unterwegs. Der Golf von Bengalen hat es in sich und da hab ich auch schon "geschwitzt", auch wenn ich Derartiges nie erlebt habe.
Anschnallen wie im Auto absolutes Muss.

I just learned about this website that ships Norwegian food around the world, and the prices they charge are ridiculous!

This is what they demand for 200 grams of the popular chips/chocolate snack named Smash, to ship it to Los Angeles. That is almost 37.5 USD! For 200g. Of course, if you order more the price pr gram would go down, but still. Order 5 (1 kg) and it costs 73.5 USD!

I get curious if I could ship stuff for cheaper. Anyone want anything from Norway, and I'll see what I can do?

@jon @ummels @gruenefraktionfreiburg nice to have project for sure, but considered the other problems that lack funding in the region, I'd say no. If Bund or start wanna fund it nice, but Freiburg shouldn't invest any funds IMHO.

Die Ansichten zum Thema Umweltschutz der jüngeren KollegInnen haben mich dann doch etwas schockiert. Das "kurz mal wegfliegen" ist verbreiteter denn je. Für meine Pläne innerhalb Europas mit dem Zug zu verreisen, erntete ich "der Alte ist aber weird" Blicke und "da fliegt doch Ryanair ab Basel" Belehrungen.

Someone’s house is burnt down and shops are being attacked because your people is whipped into a religious/racial frenzy but it’s more important for us to “bersyukur” and keep quiet about what’s happening to us because someone else is suffering even more in another place. How… convenient. And also, how familiar.
