I'm going to be interviewed live on German radio station Radio Eins in a bit (around 11:20 my time today, I was told). You can tune in if you are in the Berlin area, or via the internet. My nerves! https://www.radioeins.de

    @mxtthxw Love that track!

    plicktzah,
    @plicktzah@mastodon.social avatar

    @mxtthxw Exactly that. Have you heard the Remixes EP? The Funkstörung remix especially was great.
    Still have both the single and the remixes double 12" tucked away somewhere in my record collection. I should put that on more often.
    Unfortunately, none of the other EFP tracks I've heard came anywhere close to being this awesome.

    @plicktzah@mastodon.social avatar

    @mxtthxw Completely agree. Another one that comes to mind is Group Home's Supa Star. Great track, and while the LP was nice as well, it just wasn't as memorable as this one song.
    Still, even a "one hit wonder" such as EFP or Group Home managed to write, perform and produce at least one more banger than I'll ever achieve.

    I’m in need of a laptop carry bag. Sounds simple but I specifically want a decent quality shoulder bag that can fit a 2020 MBP, some headphones (sennheiser hd25). Power supply, two or 3 small tools and some electrical tape.

    Are there any brands that might fit this criteria? Very much needs to fit those items and be hardwaring.

    Found a couple but didn’t quite fit the headphones. I definitely don’t want something too big! :80spc:

    Any help/boosts welcome. :80spc:

    @mxtthxw I've had some good experiences with Tech Air bags in the past. Their messenger bags should meet your needs quite good. I've used their stuff for about 12 or so years on a daily basis at university and in my first job, lugging a quite chunky 14" ThinkPad with cables, headphones (some cheap Sennheiser budget model), a large flask and paperwork. No problems at all. It even survived a minor bike accident when it was flung across the pavement.

    Hey do you all have any opinions on Arturia minilab vs keystep 37, along with the new IK UNO synth pro X? I’m pondering a setup with these (either or on the arturia controllers of course) plus a nanobox lemondrop. Pedal effects chain considerations: mirrorhouse pedal, and one of these: Strymon Nightsky, OBN Minim, or a Meris LVX. Along with an ana sounds Tape Preamp pedal. :blobcatcoffee:
    Desired outcome: NIN “The Slip”, Postal Service “Give Up”, Imogen Heap, 1920’s lounge singer.

    plicktzah,
    @plicktzah@mastodon.social avatar

    @ambergrey One plus of the Minilab for me would be the knobs and pads. Could be great for tweaking the Uno, although I don't know if it's as menu-divey as the non-X Uno.
    OTOH, the 37 seems to be universally loved for its keys and the arp and strumming features.
    FWIW, I have the KS Pro with its brilliant multi-lane sequencers and mediocre keybed, having tried the Minilab Mk2 before (keys felt slightly better compared to the KS Pro).

    plicktzah,
    @plicktzah@mastodon.social avatar

    @ambergrey Sounds like a good plan. Have you considered any of the alternatives to the Arturias, like Novation Impulse/SL/Launchkey and the like? They always seemed like a great choice in terms of features and price. Haven't tried any of them though.

    More and more, I want to be exclusively on decentralised places online, whether that's the Fediverse or similar.

    I am fucking done with the way musicians and other creators are held ransom by the robber barons of the tech world.

    Their "disruption" always seems to make them billionaires and leave the actual creators scrabbling for pennies in the dust.
