Having ChatGPT available on my Mac with a mere ⌥+space is pretty game changing.

I'm now using it multiple times a day while coding and for other tasks.

With reliable and convenient screenshot -> text software (hello TextSniper) PDF's ability to disable copying text seems quaint…

Heck i even use text sniper to copy text from PDFs that are copyable because it's still much more reliable than PDF/Previews copy formatting.

Developed a film today. Only the first five shots had pictures. Everything g else totally black. Not sure what happened. But I did notice the shot counter was weird. So I assume the film fell of the sprockets somehow

@schwa does the F2 have a film advance override button? Lets you wind the film advance so you can press the shutter again but it disengages the sprockets so the film doesn’t advance. Allows doing double exposures which can be fun :) (see linked post).

Beginning to drown in empty 35mm film containers.

This is such a nostalgic childhood memory. The amount of these things I had as a child containing the random cruft kids collect.

And another old film camera ordered from random Japanese dude on eBay (mainly for nostalgia/ornamental value).

Less than 1/2 the price of the same camera for sale at US camera restorers. And I know, coming from Japan this camera will be impeccably cared for and restored.

@Bluedonkey I’ve already ordered a few parts (a hot shoe adapter and an eye level view finder for Nikon f2) and both units came in perfect working order.

This camera is also from Japan and even though it’s 1/2 a century old for the most part it feels like it came from the factory a week ago (some minor scuffs and screen fade not withstanding)

I also have a Nikkor ai lens on its way to me now. I’ll let you know.

@GeekAndDad I do have a lens. Chinese lens manufacturers are cornering the market on speciality lenses with excellent build quality.

This lens has two extra degrees of freedom. It’s kinda wild. (No ttf or af though obviously)

Yeah it depends on the lens I imagine. This one is fine. Build quality is good but i can see something as extreme as a 500 being… iffy?
