Xcode 15.3 seems like a backslide in a bunch of cases.

I’m seeing lots of “Build service could not create build operation: unknown error while handling message: unknownSession(handle: "S0")” failures that require closing and reopening the project.

And in SPMs no longer actually preview (Update Failed)

It’s the first time I’ve had to downgrade in as long as I can remember.

I use Finder tags to organize my (way way way… too many) programming projects…

And i have a (https://just.systems) script that automatically adds tags to them based on their status on github (public, private, fork, etc etc).

I use this - and Finder smart folders - to manage a list of current(-ish) projects I am working on rather easily.

Probably need to archive a bunch of these now though.

I was doing the typical "oh god i have too many projects on the go" thing for a while… and then I realized these aren't projects. They're notebooks.

Many of these projects are never going to see the light of day. But they're just places for me to experiment and learn and explore. I shouldn't make myself feel bad that they're “unfinished”

If you beat yourself up for all those unfinished projects you have on the go - maybe reframing them as programming “notebooks” will help you too.

Projects i am no longer interested in get moved to a Project Graveyard repo (at the moment their git history is discarded but I want to experiment preserving that via git-subtree).

The graveyard has 293 folders(/projects). My active ~/Projects directory has 83 folders (but only a handful are tagged "Current”).

And i am pretty good at trashing test projects that have little value hanging around.

@chontorres Yeah it's far too easy to feel bad (especially if you're ADHD) for creating and not “finishing” projects. But reframing them as the electronic equivalent of a note book really helped me understand what I am doing with them. The projects are "finished" when I get something from them, which for the vast majority of them is not when they're made public/result in a shipping product.

Apps adding LLM support to enable features that aren’t core to the functionality of the app.

Now all the user’s data is getting sent to OpenAI’s (and other’s) servers.

Ignoring all the other issues around LLMs this seems like massive privacy hole.

Are the user's 100% aware their data is being uploaded when they're told “use AI to do xxxx”?

What’s the retention policy for that data? Who knows right?
