@bloor @pwaring I believe this one is correct. I deal with kWh frequently at work, MWh only crops up on annual reporting occasionally but a lot still prefer kWh most of the time.

@bloor @pwaring the units are the same but I can’t say I have seen any ‘/‘ appear in any reports. I only see the unit expressed as MWh likewise with kWh.

For my community:

I plan to perform the first step in the upgrades to this instance at some point between Christmas and the end of the First week in Jan, i'm not yet 100% sure exactly when, but as I have a couple of weeks off I will (at some point) have half a day to a day that I can spend to get things here mostly up to date (Probably a minor patch or two behind as I need to also update my custom fork of Mastodon before I can update to the very latest).

Just finished reading "Toxic - A History of Nerve Agents, From Nazi Germany to Putin's Russia" by Dan Kaszeta (also known for his excellent OSINT work for Bellingcat during the Arab Spring).

It was a fascinating read, and one of the better books I've read recently. Similar writing style to Ignition!, setting technical information about the development and production to a backdrop of the political landscape that shaped chemical warfare over the last 120 years.

    I think it’s time to accept that after five months without an update, @tootapp isn’t being developed anymore, and it’s time to look for a viable alternative on iOS if I want its quirks to ever be fixed.

    I'm looking at LED panels for ceiling lighting.

    Does anyone have recommendations for manufacturer? I've looked at a wide range of sources, and pretty much all seem to be "generics", and I'm worried about quality.

    @neil I follow a few electricians on youtube, they like using JCC lighting.

    They compliment quality and ease of fitting but I haven’t seen them use the LED panels, only down lights and the industrial light strips so I’m not across what the panels are like.

    I’m sure it will be good but now that cancellation hangs over it.

    It was the same when I watched Y the last man on Disney+. Great show but that always sat in the back of my head.

    @GossiTheDog Dad got garden leave after his redundancy, his boss pestered him all the time to begin with. He answered pretty much every call for something with ‘do you want to employ me again?’

    When they always answered no his reply’s were themed around ‘that’s a shame, have a good day and bye’. His work phone then went very quiet for most of his garden leave.

    Power cut at home this morning zapped the USB stick that my ESXi host boots off sigh 🙄

    So tonight I'm reinstalling ESXi on a fresh USB stick and reimporting all the guests, hoping their filesystems are okay….

    @GossiTheDog I have been switched over. The pair of handsets aren’t bad and they were free to me as part of the switch.

    I got a little leaflet in the pack that repeated the email for how useless they are during a power cut.

    Also as it’s VoIP the area code is no longer automatic so you have to dial it for every call unless you save the number. There may be some settings to change this but I haven’t logged in to check. Last time I tried the section to manage your phone settings was down.
