Democrats “must do all they can to make sure that voters know about this conviction, and, importantly, that Republican lawmakers … lined up like little robots to savage the justice system, all to put Trump above accountability and the law,” Greg Sargent writes👇🏽https://newrepublic.com/article/182111/trump-guilty-verdict-hush-money-shatters-aura-invincibility

“Trump committed extensive fraud to deceive the American people about a tawdry affair and cheat his way into the most powerful position in the world, one he never should have been granted in the first place. The GOP presidential nominee is now a convicted criminal.”

“The larger story is also a powerful one. The system sought to hold Trump accountable despite a roar of second guessing—and in the face of incredible strains inflicted on it by Trump and his GOP enablers and media propagandists, who make up an extraordinarily powerful elite cadre. The system held. That reflects positively on our country. There is time for the Biden campaign to figure out how to tell that story as well.”

Immigrants have a long and distinguished history of serving in the US military. This , we also remember that some have made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation. The Florida crash that resulted in the deaths of eight farmworkers harkens to the Baltimore bridge collapse, which killed six immigrant workers. These men were among millions of essential workers.

But they shouldn’t have to die to have their work honored. Their labor should be recognized every day. More at America’s Voice:

In 2022, these workers helped make Florida number one in the US in the value of production of bell peppers, sugarcane, tomatoes, and watermelons, just to name a few. Florida is also one of the top producers of all oranges. Their backbreaking and skilled labor sustains the agricultural industry and feeds the nation.
