It’s a cool day today AND my baking stuff is unpacked (I think), so today I’m making scones! It’s my family’s recipe, and is miles better than the dry, brittle stuff the coffee shops sell. 😃 Recipe Incoming

Wolohan Scones
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1 cube butter, softened
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2tbs baking powder
In a small dish mix egg & milk
In a larg mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients
Make a volcano hole in dry ingredients and add in the milk, eggs & butter. Mix with a wooden spoon. DO NOT OVER MIX!
Turn dough out onto a floured cutting board & roll til it’s as thick as you first thumb joint, being careful not to over handle the dough

Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into parallelogram like shapes. Place on an inuslated cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes then slice lengthwise and apply an Irish amount of butter!
Serve with tea

Oh, and for this recipe, scone rhymes with gone, not stone. That’s how you know it’s the good kind.
p.s. overhandling the dough will make it tough, so mix and handle it as little as possible!

I usually follow anyone back and it's very rare that I intentionally unfollow a mutual, but I just unfollowed someone whose account I realized is primarily promoting grind culture. Absolutely not.

No, I do not have 12 working hours on weekdays and 16 more on weekends to "create wealth." Sick of this pervasive ableist, capitalist, anti-humane attitude.

So now SpaceX, with no working spacesuit, and years behind on it's multi-billion dollar moon lander, is lobbying NASA to go to the Hubble Space Telescope.

I wanted to bake something today because the weather was cool, but I couldn't remember the recipe, so I had to look it up, but the recipe book was packed, so I had to move a bunch of boxes to get to it, but while they were out of the way I decided to put the kitchen rug down, then as long as I was at it I unpacked some dishes, then I unpacked my cookbooks then decided to put them on the tea cart, then put every else back nicely & now the kitchen looks better but I'm too tired to bake.

I loved seeing the last night, that was really special. I never thought I would see northern lights, and certainly not in Eastbourne!
