I have noticed that other gen-z drink less, and weed seems to be the more popular thing among other observations. Maybe Gen-Z is less social and less willing to go outside and talk as well as there are more things bars have to compete with, but more than anything I feel largest factor is that the costs of living are squeezing the youth and this is an example of its effects.

It might also be the increased digital connectivity that has come with advances in bandwidth and data sizes.

Edit: great magazine by the way, this is the first time I've seen it.

Just learned what the user interfaces in the SpaceX capsules run.

The capsules that provide life support for people traveling into space and have to be absolutely reliable.

The user interface that controls an explosion.

I was sceptical before, but after seeing his management skills in action, I think allowing Elon to oversee the migration of Earth’s wealthiest elites to Mars is a great idea.

    No, no, and maybe yes.

There is no Marvel fatigue. There is no superhero saturation. What there is, is simply trash. Make a shit superhero movie and the movie will just be shit. It has nothing to do with there being superheroes.

Hollywood doesn’t get it. People don’t seem to get it either. But these phases are just repeating itself. It used to be cowboys. It used to be cops. Then pirates. It used to be sword and sandals.

Cowboy movies are fun. So are pirate movies and superhero movies. If they’re made well!

The moment some execs look at a bunch of numbers and think “Oh, people will pay money to see X”, THAT is when things go wrong. No, people pay to see good movies. And Marvel used to be hype when they made good movies.

Have you matured as you gotten older? Why or why not?

After having upsetting my friend after a less friendly and more sensitive conversation, I noticed that though I am particularly sensitive I didn't take her treatment towards me to heart and we are speaking just fine as before after 30 minutes. I am in my mid twenties and I noticed that I have a handle on my emotions better...

Godot Engine hits over 50K euros per month in funding (www.gamingonlinux.com)

One of the big winners of the Unity debacle is the free and open source Godot Engine, which has seen its funding soar to a much more impressive level as Unity basically gave them free advertising. Certainly helps that Godot ended up launching their new funding platform on the same day Unity announced their hated Runtime Fee...

Nippon TV to Acquire Studio Ghibli as Subsidiary (www.animenewsnetwork.com)

The Nippon TV (NTV) television broadcasting company announced on Thursday that it has decided to acquire 42.3% of the shares of world-famous animation studio Ghibli. Okay, being harsh and insulting just isn't necessary. Yes, OP got something wrong — they posted something that they thought was significant but actually isn't — but why not correct them like a reasonable person? In general, we should be trying to encourage discussion and foster a positive community, and that means treating other people like human beings when they don't know much about space stuff.

But noooooo, we need dopamine from cussing out people who've been on Kbin for a day because they dared post about satellites being lost without knowing that it doesn't mean that much. You might as well have told them to fuck off and never come back. And of course, this is the comment that gets all the upvotes.

How are people supposed to feel comfortable posting when any error they make is going to be met with insults and blocks? You're talking to another person, ffs, and personally attacking them over something as small as this. Communities aren't enjoyable when people are supporting this stuff.

    eltimablo,

Making an error is one thing. Gloating about something that's been accounted for and is completely expected as if it's some major gotcha without an ounce of understanding is, in my opinion, 100% worthy of derision.
