Hey, I'll try to handle the abandoned magazines / transfers as quickly as possible. However, I need to automate this process because there are too many requests.
Microblog from /m/11ty to test the tag/hashtag. I've noticed when creating a Thread on the magazine and adding a tag of 11ty as well it does not show under the fediverse tags, such as https://mstdn.social/tags/11ty
The post does show up in my mastodon feed and the tag is there, takes you to the /tags/11ty, but does not appear in the list of other related hastag posts.
That's cool, you can reply to a #kbin thread from #Mastodon and it show's up as a reply to the thread. I was also able to reply to a microblog as well as a comment to the kbin, but it showed up as a new post on the microblog of kbin.
Still neat to see how these platforms federate together!
For explaining too, replying from kbin now. The conversation is thread like on kbin where mastodon is a continuous running line where some conversations that branch may be hard to see.
@Monodeath You could add me! I think over time its just good to have a couple of moderators. Not so much to post content but ensure the rules of the group are kept too.
How can I link related magazines from a magazine I've created, similar to how kbinMeta shows kbin as related? I don't see an option for it on the magazine panel.
Thumbnails on Kbin. Is there a way to see the whole picture by default, not just a small portion on the pic in my feed? Also, clicking on the thumbnail should open the whole pic?
Occasionally kbin goes from the excellent dark mode it started with to blinding white after swapping between tabs or refreshing. Usually clicking back undoes it, but now it's stuck. I feel like an idiot, because I can't figure out how to turn it back.
@a_mac_and_con on every page there appears to be a settings panel on the right, the gear icon. There you can set your Theme, and other General and Tread settings. Not sure if, but they should be global settings for your profile.
This is a microblog specific question so probably best to put it on the microblog! What do you guys think about having microblogs on the magazine-level as opposed to at the user-level? I guess my expectation was a combination of thread/Reddit-like and microblog/Mastodon-like posting here on kbin, but having blogs at the magazine-level definitely shakes that up a bit. On one hand could be an opportunity to explore a new kbin-specific feature, on the other I think there is a little bit of confusion on what mag-blogs are “for” (given they can be for whatever we as a community decide). More than anything just excited to see how it develops over time and get everyone’s ideas/input on what you think!
@wrath@kbin.social so far I like it and see the biggest impact too once federation kicks in. Kinda like having a side discussion on a topic or a general idea rather than a main idea.
With Federation on pause for now on kbin.social, I wonder how the fediverse will handle all the outgoing and incoming federation requests then. Reminds me of the Twitter migration and things stalled for a few days.
I'm really hopeful about a return to a DIY internet. I don't think it'll be for everyone, I know there are a lot of people who just can't do social media without something like Facebook that holds their hand, but I'm hopeful for fewer walled gardens for those who can manage without them.
