In this one, we have Linux Mint deciding to hide unverified Flatpaks by default (but not apps from the repos, also unofficial?), we have KDE asking you to help them define their goals for the next 2 years, and we have the atrocious Windows recall being already hacked, and Microsoft backing down, making it disabled by default, and adding some security layers (because unencrypted databases are rarely a good idea)

I ran a little survey over the past week, to see which problems people were facing on #Linux, and I must say the results surprised me!

We got 3300 answers, on the general skill level, hardware or software problems, most problematic areas, the terminal, the community, the ease of finding online help, and more! So, here are my conclusions:

I decided to check if gaming distros gave you an edge in terms of performance, compared to something based, and of a specific gaming distro would perform better than another.

Since I had a @tuxedocomputers mini ITX desktop on hand to review, I decided to combine the two, so I checked whether gaming distros are better for gaming, with 4 game benchmarks I ran on the Atlas S:

AFAIK, Total War and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are from Feral and automatically use game mode if available :)

@yuukaze The goal was to compare things that are different, since you can use Proton GE on any distro, I should have used GE on all of them, so there wouldn’t have been any difference either :)

Today, I learned that diversity, equality and inclusivity is apparently a bad thing, and will kill a project? (From the comments under my latest news talking about ’s 5 year plan).

So, wanting people to feel comfortable contributing to a project is bad and woke now? Serisouly, what do they put in these people’s water? They’re going insane.

@JollyDigital @AaronPajak Except this really has never been anything anyone serious or credible argued for, or has implemented. Anyone arguing for this is to be dismissed as readily as someone assuming diversity is a bad word :)

@chalex2020 Exczpt, again, that’s never happening. No company would do that. They’d keep looking for the right person with the right skills.

People who would force this kind of unsuited hire should be dismissed, just like people saying « the market regulates itself, let companies pick who’s the best person” should be dismissed, because they completely ignore the current biases.

My latest game of #warhammer40k was insanely fun! Took another Ork Dread Mob list, with a Stompa, against Tyranids, and it ended on a perfect draw, 75 VP each.

What matters is that a Killa Kan exploded and took out a Pyrovore, which exploded and killed a Neurotyrant that was on 1HP, and then the Stompa with 1HP charged a Hive Tyrant, killed it, then the tyrant exploded in death, killing the Stompa, which exploded and thus killed my Mek, a Deff Dread, plus DeathLeaper, and a BroodLord. Awesome!
