They can work together to accomplish the the launch. dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/dbus-daemon.1.html#sessi… There are cases where systemd doesn’t take part, but that’s irrelevant to the point I made. (Nevertheless, my follow-up comment did mention dbus.)
