@schwa look apple's always like "look at all these people creating their life's greatest work on an ipad" and i'm like "i want to do that too" but i need a terminal for my nerd stuff and apple still won't give me one :(
@schwa back in my day we had to use the shell uphill both ways!
before i tell you to get off my lawn at least point me to an ipad-worthy programming app/paradigm/thing (no "ipad sucks" implied, genuine curiosity here)
like there's codea and pythonista but i guess those are not cool enough to be in an ipad commercial
i'd actually be very down for some dwitter.net-like little ipad demoscene digital art-focused coding app
@schwa@jackbrewster sigh. I do NOT want a cut down version of macOS on iPad. I am perfectly ok with it always being a different thing. That being said, I would like some improvements to iPad that aren’t meant for iOS.
I am definitely in the minority here (I think) in that I use my iPad more than my iPhone.
@schwa@jackbrewster I think people actually did think a lot about this. And actually (not) used iPads for a long time to understand the issue.
iOS is a shrunk down OSX built specifically for very weak hardware. Scaling that up again is kinda funny (and didn't work).
