Today’s quick 3d print of a “pill placer" for our old dog. Big enough for the capsules he has to take 3x a day and hopefully more accurate and less intrusive than my fingers, with less chance of a munched finger.

I found a 3d printable version, but after a quick reality check it became obvious they made it for a totally different sized pill. Also needs to be at least 2x that long for our dog if we are going to stand any chance. I’m whipping something up in Fusion 360. Lots of chamfers on the edges and sturdy enough to survive the molars of doom.
The pill is a soft capsule that falls apart after the 3rd failed try of getting it to the back of his throat just using fingers, which barely reach.

@teotwaki I figured it would also act like a tongue depressor, since his tongue seals the back of his throat the moment we open his mouth a little ways. I can't imagine being able to shoot anything in, although that would be fantastic. “;^)
You're right on the length, just did a quick test with something about 100mm and there's ample room coming from the back side.

Question for any woodworkers: how resilient are electric planars to screws and does it even make sense to plane old deck boards to reuse? I was thinking of flipping them over.

@smellsofbikes I’d like to think that I would find, remove them all, but have to be realistic. Remember years ago trying to tighten any heads sticking up and some just broke off.

Wife and I went for a ride on rail trail and then by Goose Pond. I’d recently discovered it was almost empty, some kind of improvement project to the dam.
There's water closer to the dam, but as you get further upstream it gets shallow and the remains of tree stumps appear. I wonder if that area was submerged after they built the small dam in 1899? Having driven and biked by there over the years it’s quite striking to see it devoid of water in so many places.
