Can someone please explain what in the FRESH FUCK is this? Why does just close every now and then? Legit subscription! I swear I'll just pirate it again, legit is nothing but endless pain.

@stooovie Ah! Video editing!

I can think of no activity more irritating. All the software for it is truly, genuinely awful.

@MattCrumpLab looks great! Before I clicked I was expecting something oscilloscope-ish, and it is, but it's also more than that.

@k_theory thx, ya this was not so much visible sine waves, but lfo style sine waves for modulating parameters in after effects

Sending my project files off to an agency who are going to translate it, and setting up the proj so that all the text layers in the dozen or so different derivative comps all link back to a single master layer, saving someone a heap of work. I feel like the universe owes me some good karma.

The tinsel is actually procedurally generated using a shape layer, I would make a tute for it, but it renders incredibly slowly. No, slower than what you're thinking, it's actually a Really Bad Idea. I also wrote a script that let me animate the ribon, it's not a physics sim, it's all hand animated. By adding separate controls for each point on the line it's a lot easier to do path animation using shape layers. https://codeberg.org/stib/PureAndApplied_AEScripts/src/branch/cloninate-re-do/ScriptUI%20Panels/points-n-handles.jsx

@stib @CStamp Beautiful work :)

sarahbell,

Hello, I’ve been exploring with mapping in After Effects lately. Here is one of my recent maps, a re-creation of an 1800s classic map by Cheyyson, complete w/ audio 🔉. I presented this map at last month’s Esri UC along with a couple other re-imagined classic maps.

Good folks with , how do I disable the new Properties panel popping up?

EDIT: it's this bugger right here

stooovie,
@stooovie@mas.to avatar

@stooovie AND it must be disabled for every layer type separately, so at first it looks like it doesn't work. Stellar UI work there, Adobe 👏👏

PSA for users on Apple Silicon - version 24 no longer runs with Rosetta AT ALL. Your Intel-only plugins will not work. Stay on 2023 if you need those. And it's a lot of plugins. The Creative Cloud app shows a "Open (Intel)" option that doesn't actually open Intel :))

Two extremely handy shortcuts:

cmd-up/down to switch between layers in the timeline

cmd-opt-up/down to move selected layers upwards or downwards

peeps, pls help

I have both 2023 and 2024 installed on a M1 Mac. I want to use 2023 as the default as its the last version to support Rosetta 2 (Intel plugins), but also keep 2024 for the new Roto Brush.

PROBLEM: tools like Overlord and others stubbornly open 2024 whenever I use them.

Any tips? Setting 2023 as the default app to open .aep files is not enough. Thanks.

This one is a bit trippy, from underwater oil spill pastels panning out a to a land of pure imagination.

What the FUCK is this? Everything is 25p, there's no mismatch.

may be slow and bloated but at least its 3D camera tracker runs on all cores compared to the tracker in Resolve, which runs on ONE core and takes forever to do a worse job.
