From the article:

This means that Armenia will return to Azerbaijan the villages of Baghanis Ayrum, Aşağı Eskipara, Heyrimli and Kızılhacılı, all of which it occupied during the First Karabakh War of 1988-1994.

The border coordinates will consider geodetic measurements on the ground and be signed by May 15.

During the meeting, the parties also agreed that a draft regulation on the joint activities of the commissions should be ready by July 1.

Agreeing to implement the border delineation process based on the 1991 Almaty Declaration, they also reached a consensus on continuing the border delineation process in all other parts of the border, including enclaves and exclaves...

okmko, to news in Despite being filled with irreligious, many still visit shrines in japan.

I’ve heard a great aphorism about this topic in that the national religion of Japan is “being Japanese”.

Sometimes I visit cathedrals/churches, simply because they’re pretty and have a rich cultural background to them. I’d say that’s sorta similar to what people in Japan are doing nowadays? I’d like to visit a Japanese shrine too someday.

Drusas,

Buddhism and Shintoism are deeply ingrained into Japanese culture. Like how many non-religious Americans celebrate Christmas and even Easter, many non-religious Japanese people will, for example, go to a shrine during the first couple days of the new year for good fortune (Hatsumode) and celebrate Obon by cleaning the family gravesite.

bstix,

This is more than just touristing. They’re doing something superstitious without considering it religious.

I mean, those statistics saying most Japanese are atheistic are bs and are mostly about how Japanese people perceive religion, not really if they follow it or not

Israel is a racist pariah state, always was and always will be.

“If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?” David Ben-Gurion: Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.

make a fake post, arrest the target, fault some third party for the ruse

wow just like home

joyjoy,

This is a (mean) strategy in Team Fortress 2. Be a spy, disguise as sniper, act like a bot, enemy team kicks the target.

Social media ruins your life, even if you aren’t using it! What the hell, you’d think they would verify that the account is at least owned by the person they are arresting.

Also, where is Meta in all this? Allowing a fake account to be created to impersonate someone should never happen. That’s on them, too.

SwingingTheLamp,

Verify the account? There’s a strong possibility that somebody in the Israeli government created it! (Or at least faked the image.)

geolaw,

Or a “helpful” Israeli citizen created it, and the government exploited the opportunity

How do you defend yourself from this kind of attack?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter. Israel has Administrative Detention laws that they use to arrest people and hold them for 6 months without charge or trial in prisons infamous for torture like Ofer, where they locked Tamini in a cage.

After 6 months you must see a judge, but the judge can just extend the detention (again, without a charge against you) for another 6 months. How many people are locked up and tortured like this in Israeli prisons?

Fortunately Ahed advocates for nonviolence, but how many people would turn to violence after being locked up and toetueed for years without even a charge against them? Israel is doing a good job at creating terrorists.
