Your comment is really smurfy! I was just thinking, “This type of account should be called a Gargamel account, not a Smurf account. Smurfs are nice. Gargamel is the bad one.”
Additionally, we have traced every single one of these smurf accounts back to its main account.
So what counts as a smurph then? I’ve got multiple accounts with 1k+ games. Are those smurphs? For years there was no such thing as MMR re-calibration, so your literal only option was to start over.
You hope it will be your first ;) let’s see if we get tickets
I’ll also try to go. If it’s any similar to other eSports events, bring earplugs. To put in your nose, not your ears, because it will smell of lots of sweat of people not using proper deodorant xD
As far as I remember, they’re all sold out very quickly after announcement. But yeah I’ve never went either, it’s just what I read on Reddit over the years.
Previously they have given early access to those buying a compendium, but it seems like they are not selling those any more. Let us hope they do something similar cos it seems like people like to buy to resell higher.
This kinda shit is exactly why I love Icefrog. They’re never content with the game being balanced, once they get almost every hero to around 50% winrate they love to add a new piece to the Jenga tower of mechanics.
This patch is such an elegant solution to a bunch of very minor hero issues, while also providing a ton of shiny new toys.
For years Dota players have argued that having to click the enemy hero to see their mana is peak game design. It was very rare to see anyone argue on favor of it. Better late than never I guess?
Do Dota2 players even keep up with this? I tried to come back but checked out when I saw random neutral drops. It was always a bit overwhelming but it looks more and more insane every time I do it.
Imo, it’s not important to memorize everything. Every patch changes something (sometimes something small like here armor adjustment on something). The general game play loop has never changed. Be aware of the map, get last hits/denies, work with team, play and build for your role/position, be cognitive of your positioning, etc.
I just started playing again a couple months ago. Read the abilities on your favorite 1-3 heroes, test the ability in the demo if it’s something completely new. And then just hop into all pick and play. You’ll learn everything again faster than you think
It’s easy to keep up with if you stick with it, I’d wager. But as someone who’s been out for a couple years now it’s less about going in with ~perfect knowledge like in the past and more about making as good a decision as you can in the moment. Don’t need to know all the neutral items, just need to read the three they give me and pick my favorite for the situation.
Idk, I honestly love the direction they’ve been taking. Feels like the meta becomes slower to solve each time they expand things and there’s so much room to play casually now it’s kind fun. Like these facets give, in some cases, completely different ways of playing some of these heroes and that’s incredibly cool.
Honestly, this looks super cool. A bunch of cosmetics and lore, and it looks like the should be semi-regularly more coming. A little surprised the game itself doesn’t seem changed (items, heroes, map?) but still cool
Do I like the event? Yeah. Did I expect more after all this time? Also yeah, however, I think this story event is building into something real cool so overall good update
I’m on the same boat, as the Battle Pass was already becoming stale. I hope this empowers more creative ways to get my daily dosis of dopamine in the game, without breaking the bank.
Those Arcanas though, they look sick but I would never buy one. Once you past the FOMO you really don’t give a crap.
