jessta, Stream from @notjustbikes at the Fully Charged Show with some commentary about some of the risks of commerical electric cargo bikes on bicycle infrastructure.
Removing speed limiters, maxing out dimensions, and electric motorbikes pretending to be bicycles.

gkmizuno, There aren't a lot of #electricbikes out there that are UL-listed, folding, with an internal 7-speed (Shimano) hub, and cheap -- like $559.
This is crazy cheap. And there's no markup if you want fat tires.
Still, I'm going to wait for Oregon to pass a bill that establishes an e-bike rebate program.

Ingurido, Hey ye #electricbikes enthusiasts in the #sfba!
I’m looking into electric bikes and would love some recommendations, specifically bikes that can handle the SF hills without too much trouble, but can carry a shopping bag too.
Ideally, not too much maintenance.
And maybe friendly, helpful people, possibly local? Though that might be too much to ask.
Pointers of any kind appreciated!
brennansv, @Ingurido Hey Ingrid, you can visit PEV Works which is near Bernal Heights. They are very knowledgable there and will help you out. https://pev.works/
bluGill, @Ingurido Start with your local bike shop. sometimes they have staff you can't stand, but most have good enough prices on quality bikes and stand behind what they sell. Support them first if possible.

Commuter, cargo, cruiser, folding, mountain, and road e-bikes for every type of rider (and budget).
SoupGod228, Biked a total of 7.5. miles this morning. Biked 4 miles to my uncles (I did get lost so it took longer than it should have), biked 1.5 miles to get food and then another 1.5 to get home. Overall, it was really fun.
