So... it's been a while now since the great exodus. How are you all doing my fellow refugees?
I made my home here permanently now. It seems like such a friendlier place but how are you all doing?
raphael, Step 3 of my evil plan regarding #fediverser and the #redditmigration has been executed. Anyone with a reddit account can go to https://portal.alien.top to claim their account at the alien.top #lemmy instance, and when they do so it gives you a list of your current reddit subscriptions and recommends the corresponding lemmy community.
Now, on to build and extend the lemmy communities so that we have more recommendations to make.
‘Reddit can survive without search’: company reportedly threatens to block Google (www.theverge.com)
This could affect a lot of peoples searches. I don’t know about you, but when my laptop stopped working correctly last month, the best solutions were still ones that google linked me to reddit to read… That said, don’t believe every news article on the internet and all that…
Is it possible to submit a DMCA takedown notice for subreddit rules and sidebar content?
They took my subreddit away and installed some sock puppet who restored everything that I wrote, which I deleted. Do I have any recourse, or do they just get to use my writing?
Today, My Subscribed community finally supass my joined Sub reddits
It has been a hard journey my boys, but I am finally here! :)

This time on Reasons Why Crypto Based on Reddit Karma Blockchain Points Is Dumb: potential fraud!
Just wanted a warning, Lemmy.World is perhaps worse than reddit at respecting their users (web.archive.org)
I just suddenly found my user over there banned. Not for getting in a fight or breaking any rules, but just for criticizing and asking questions regarding its recent vague Terms of Service. In fact, no reason, warning, or reply was given beforehand, and the admin who did it suddenly scaled to banned, with no reply or anything...

"It's the content, stupid." - Quick Notes to Supercharge K.Bin
Like you, I'm a passionate user of K.Bin but lately, I'm noticing that things are getting kinda stale around here. The most recent thread in this, the top-level magazine on K.Bin, is 4 days old. Many other top 25 magazines are also suffering from a similar lack of fresh content. I run /m/scifi and it's been continuing to grow...

Relay finally shut down without subscription - not sure how much I’ll really use reddit from hereon out, most of my time is on lemmy anyway
Reddit became hypersensitive... goodbye
After 10 years and a few hundred thousand karma made a comment in r/europe that got me banned… in a discussion about AfD (a far, far right German party that has neo-Nazis as members) I made the mistake of saying “Guess we didn’t drop enough bombs on Dresden” (since much of the support for AfD is from the east)… got...

Reddit Activity Plummeted After The Protests - by Adam Bumas (www.garbageday.email)
Last month marked the official end of the Reddit protests. Any subreddit that had changed its rules or gone dark — or forced its users to post exclusively about John Oliver — has now gone back to normal. On the surface, it seems like a complete victory for Reddit, but things aren’t so simple when a major element of that...

Basically, there is no native way to do this. You have to use an extension like uBlock Origin's Element Zapper.
niktemadur, Ah! Thank you for the reply! That way I’m not on a wild goose Settings chase.

Instance Assistant v1.2.5 released: You can now generate posts for Lemmy/Kbin, search for posts, and redirect posts from foreign instances
Hi everyone, I’m excited to announce one more release before I take a short break. I have some other stuff starting up, so I won’t be pushing out new features as fast, but I’ll still be around to manage the project. (more at the end)...
