actually it’s two hostage situations, at least: the one regarding the disparate native peoples, and the one the current ruling classes have on the settler population

i'm not sure i would call those hostage situations… but indeed it would be interesting to hear how those who supposedly stand for democracy reconcile such issues with the ideals of democracy…
