Dear person-who-called-an-uber-at-4am-and-only-paid-$50-for-a-ride-to-the-airport-and-had-6-bags-and-5-people-but-saw-fit-to-tip-only-$3.00: I could've taken another fare, you know!
I made $21 for that fare - and went back to WDW empty afterwards! #DeadHeading
Yesterday while I was driving #rideshare at #WaltDisneyWorld I stopped to pick up a guest & their family. I hit the button to open my van's side-doors & my attention was attracted towards a man flailing his arms & yelling at a woman & her daughter. His exact words were: "You damned #Jews! You think you own the world! You're gonna learn different!"
As the man saw me & walked towards me, I closed the doors, put the van into gear, and drove away. 🤬
"Disney could improve ventilation and could encourage masks to stay safer but nope, just slap a legal disclaimer and you are done. No need to do anything because there are no requirements for any business from anyone."
So, tornado watch still in effect for greater Orlando, including #WaltDisneyWorld, yet the parks are gonna open - except for (ironically) the water parks!
I know watches are not warnings...but this is just tone-deaf:
“We are closely monitoring the path of the projected weather as we continue to prioritize the safety of our Guests and Cast Members,” #Disney says.
Riiiight! How quickly can you move 10k guests (in each park) to safety if a tornado happens, Disney?
@jann I would like to know the serious answer to that question. If there was a tornado, what's the emergency plan? How often are drills run? Is it actually just "herd everyone into the nearest utilidor system access point"?
@ellie Its literally that Disney World has designated storm shelters throughout the RCID properties... They do change sometimes as some more get designated, while others are deemed not valid for the storm heading your way. They are labeled as such and Cast Members & loudspeakers are used to let guests know in that area where to go. (Disney can individually address loudspeakers in certain areas of park & resort properties). Emergency "My Disney" app notifications happen too!
I know Orlando is quite a ways away from #hurricaneidalia, but I'm only 20m away from Orlando (east) & it's just SCREAMING wind and rain here. I know it's only 20-35mph winds/rain, but shouldn't #WaltDisneyWorld close more than their WATER PARKS today? 😳
This means #CastMembers are stuck outside in this working!
I know people have paid for vacations, but really! They didn't expect a #Hurricane less than 100 miles away, right? Or did they? This WAS forecast to hit #Florida!
The perfect apparel for #TrashCanTuesday, this "Love Our Disney Theme Parks" shirt spotlights an iconic recycling can design and classic #WaltDisneyWorld branding. A companion #Disneyland version is also available.
