Go to the Finder, type shift-command-A (⇧-⌘-A) to bring up the Applications folder window.

Experiment with other letters:

⇧-⌘-D brings up Desktop
⇧-⌘-O Documents
⇧-⌘-I iCloud Drive

@davemark I also assign Shift-Command-L to my user library, since I dig around in there so much. (Definitely not a default.)

@davemark Nothing by default; I was trying to say I manually assign it to open the Library folder. Not really the same as the built in-stuff. -_-
