AVincentInSpace,

Ooh, I love warm showers UNTIL IT SLOWLY STARTS GETTING COLD, REQUIRING A TEMP INCREASE

Is this an autism thing? I thought everyone did it?

BackOnMyBS,
@BackOnMyBS@lemmy.world avatar

Maybe. I think everyone shares some traits, but the hypersensitivity to physical sensations and dislike of transitions probably makes us do it more often than others.

Take a real shower.

The pie chart doesn’t indicate the total length of the shower, so it is feasible (and in fact the reality) that the little slice where I’m actually cleaning contains a real shower.

@favrion@lemmy.world avatar

That would mean approximately 25 minutes of showering and 2,375 minutes of warmth.

I shower with cold water. Refreshing and ready to go in like five minutes.

Used to shower pretty hot around two years ago but now I actually prefer cold, even in winter.

I have very good skin so neither affected it negatively, but I think cold is better as it feels like the skin can retain its moisture better when using cold water.

KreekyBonez,

I want to like hot showers, but it dries out my skin so badly, and it makes me feel like a pierogi that’s been left out too long; without any butter or sour cream

lobut,

I used to shower cold. I mainly do luke warm and then finish off cold.

Showering in the gyms messed me up because they only have one temperature and it’s really hot so it messed up my gauge. I think cooler water is better in general too, not sure about the moisture stuff itself but I found myself itching less in winter after doing so. I also used to be afraid of stepping out of the shower because of the cold and it feels just fine now.

Taking a bath, doubly so

RizzRustbolt,

Now add in a plot for time it takes to convince yourself to take a shower.

Transporter_Room_3,

Most programs won’t render slices thin enough for the “Shower” portion of that…

1boiledpotato,

Also the sound

frogfruit,

Elevate the experience with a towel warmer and/or space heater in the bathroom

Perhyte,

Two words: underfloor heating.

When walking around barefoot, warm tiles are a so much nicer than cold ones.

Kusimulkku,

Poor person’s solution is living in a place with plastic flooring.

DoctorWhookah,

I think your skin technically is expanding

I feel it happening in the moment

It probably is something you can feel if your skin is dry and/or cold. It does stretch and become more pliable when warm and wet.

lemann,

Love to see i’m not the only one who puts visual emphasis on the word “warm”, just to encapculate the feeling 😁
