(Growing up in the tropics, we never had anything frozen. It’s more of a cultural bias from lack of exposure)
Yoshinoya is also what I spent all my pocket money on as a teenager, so it also makes me feel nostalgic even tho I can make better gyudon from scratch now
@skinnylatte The only Yoshinoya I've ever had is the stuff from their restaurants here in the US. And that was consistently terrible.
Given that I trust your taste in food, I am also operating under the assumption that this is better than what I could walk in and get at a Yoshinoya here. 😉
@skinnylatte frozen food definitely has its place. Dumplings are great frozen, if you don't want to make them, but there's other stuff that's actually better frozen: edamame and peas come to mind.
They stay greener and are easier to work with when frozen 😁
@sortius in a world of going to the market daily in the tropics, with fresh dumplings and fishballs made fresh daily, available for purchase, I don’t even know where I would get many frozen options. We get fresh edamame all year round too! That’s changing with supermarkets but even then only some very specialized things
