Yup. At this point people have had a full-year grace period to transition themselves away from that platform, so I no longer have any qualms about judging those who continue to remain active there.

They have no excuse and I fully consider them as much a part of the problem as anyone else. I don't care how much they may profess to hate Musk. Actions speak louder than words.

@aggualaqisaaq They really don't have an excuse at this point. They had a whole year to prepare and move to a different platform. I agree, actions do speak louder than words.

@noellemitchell Like you, I made the exit long ago, but my colleages who stay say they do so because that is where their #Bioengineering #EngineeringEducation #community is, and it hasn't made a coherent move from #AcademicTwitter to #AcademicMastodon even though X's values run contrary to their own values as #educators.

How do we transition entire #communities from X to better welcoming place without meeting them on X first? It is a vexing challenge and I sure don't have a good answer.

@DanielMReck Good point, a lot of people on X might not even know that Mastodon exists. So you would have to join X in order to let them know about the alternatives.
