Weird artifacting in Visual Studio Code

I have already tried to reinstall, didn’t work. I have the RX 6600. I’m on Fedora. Already ran sudo dnf update and restarted multiple times. Could my GPU be dying? The GPU is a Powercolor branded one and basically the cheapest RX 6600 that my local shop had available so its a bit sketchy. But it has worked pretty well so far.

Stiltonfondu,

I had this yesterday. I think it’s related to the new Mesa driver. Couldn’t get vscode to behave soo switched to vscodium which works fine

Stiltonfondu,

Also if you look at journalctrl -f while launching code you’ll see lots of errors etc regarding shaders.

AapoL,

Thanks for this! Actually I will probably just be on Codium for now because it fully open source. Actually I didn’t remember that Codium was a thing!

Stiltonfondu,

NP!

I’ll be switching to Codium now too

Does it only happen in VSCode? Also, try disabling the compositor and see if that helps?
