I’m disabled and no way to get anything from what I have now, which is a omen laptop from 2016 and no matter what ditro, and whatever fixes I try, I can’t get Linux to work with my games through steam without a lot of problems....
I’m playing ghost of tsushima pc right now. It works on wine, but you’ll need to turn off upscaling. you also will want to install vkd3d because it doesnt seem to support dx11 or earlier. The graphics do look pretty minced sometimes and I encountered an issue where nothing showed up at all(i turned off upscaling to fix). It...
I currently have a win 11 machine and would like to dual boot with Linux. Looking at some of the different options, it seems many aren’t recommended for dual booting. Are there any that are?
Thus far I have been playing on my XBox 360 wireless controller, but the rubber has worn off one of the sticks so far, i can feel the edge of the hard plastic beneath it when I play. The springs in the triggers are creaking as well....
I guess the meta is installing them via Lutris\Bottles and then launching them via Steam to have a modern controller support and overlay, is that’s so? Does emulation make it better in any way (it seems easier)? What would you use playing them now?...
Has anyone else had this problem? I updated my openSuse Tumbleweed today (restart required), and now none of my games work. Most are through Steam, so at first I thought it was that. But I have Cyberpunk through GOG launched with Heroic. And even more, Alien Arena has the same problem, so it’s not even a proton issue (I did...
Since the lastest update on The finals we need to use Proton Experimental to avoid the anticheat randomly kicking Linux users, but since yesterday the game is crashing, sometimes in the menu. Sometimes the games launches and close automatically, with the lastest proton GE instead of Proton-experimental I had the following error:...
Does anyone know why OW2 may be crashing on Arch? I thought it was just me, but I went to protondb and saw more reports. The only solutions I found from historical crashing non-Arch related was for nVidia users, but I’m on AMD....
Thought i share it, since it came in handy lots as a GoG enjoyer....
I tried DOTA2 but don’t like it....

I'm dual booting Pop_OS and Windows 11 for now while l try things out. I went with Pop_OS for the NVIDIA drivers, since I have a NVIDIA card. Installation went smoothly, but setup is where things started to get a little weird....
I can’t find anything that isn’t only for Windows.
Yesterday I was trying to install the Ubisoft version of AC Odissey on my PopOS! machine, and I wasn’t able to do so because when I try to launch Ubisoft Connect from Lutris, it asks me to do the login and then shows only a black rectangle....
I have installed lutris & gamescope as flatpaks, however when I try to launch games (namely gta sa & mod organizer 2) with the gamescope setting enabled, they simply fail to launch. Is there something I am missing?...

Age of Empires 4 is the only game I have had trouble getting to run properly after my switch to Linux. On my Windows boot I can play at 100% scaling 1440P and get a solid 80fps with High settings...
So after one of my recent comments about if Linux is ready for gaming, I decided to pick-up a new Intel based wifi adapter (old one was broadcom and the drivers on fedora sucked and would drop connection every few minutes)....
I’m not able to find this answer in old posts. Can we install games from the Microsoft store? I just claimed a free copy of Fallout 76 on PC from Prime Gaming and the MS store is telling me I need the XBOX app which sounds really weird to me.
Currently using an X11 system, on an AMD GPU; the window manager is FVWM because I’m a nostalgic old git....

EDIT: The audio issue on Wayland seems to have magically resolved itself after several reboots, so while I never figured out why the option for VRR disappeared in the Xorg session, I’ve resorted to using Wayland and everything seems to be as it should....
