PS - Jews and African Americans were only admitted to Lexington's Idle Hour golf course / country club in 1985. That's not ancient history. That's the year my oldest daughter was born. I moved here in 1989, and even though Lexington is supposedly a liberal city, it's history is dark. Doing my architectural internship, I found a lot of icky defacto redlining and other things. There are still deeds in the downtown victorian era neighborhoods up through the 1950s that forbid a Jew or African American person from buying the properties or even staying there overnight.
