Should I update winetricks?

Hi everyone! I have been using Lutris to manage my GOG library. For the most part it works great. Occasionally I'll come across a game that gives a blank screen when a cinematic is playing (for example Konung: Legend of the North), or have some other issue. So I will try to run winetricks to install the codec pack and see if that gets it working. Lately winetricks seems to have more trouble actually installing any codec or DLL I try, it just fails. So today I did a little searching and found a post on winehq that suggested I do a:

sudo winetricks --self-update

the message that came up is:

warning: This will install Winetricks directly from its original developers. Debian has no control over that version.

This message seemed somewhat ominous, so I ask. Is there any reason I might not want to do this?

Thanks!
