A mistake to raise expectations that can't be met for many years. They have to tell it like it is. Brexit is a disaster, it was always going to be. BUT, it is done & can't be undone. The only way back is the rejoin route, & that will take many years. People need to understand that. The trouble is, if they make a promise, then people will expect instant action. That's why Starmer won't go near it until he is in office. It has to be made to work as well as possible for now.
