@hireillo this makes me very nervous… I have used canva at times and wanted to like it but it is a garbage product… it is only a matter of time before they make affinity go subscription 😢… if I knew how I would make my own app … who knows maybe @Iconfactory will get into the game … I love Linea sketch
@Iconfactory@Lynk The thing is, artists don’t want new features every month. We want stability and a reliable product. I think we need to write a new concise list of software, with all the pros and cons, to share with our members. There are some absolute gems out there that don’t get the coverage they deserve.
@hireillo@Lynk and therein lies the problem with subscriptions. In order to justify the ongoing recurring (monthly or annual) costs, users demand new features and that’s what Apple expects developers to deliver. If they had gone the route of paid upgrades every two or three years instead then we might’ve had more of a model like you have suggested and that we’ve always wanted. That’s not the way the App Store has gone sadly.
