Today some people in Scotland are getting upset that they are no longer able to be quite as publicly and loudly horrible to other people any more without potential legal consequences.

Not even those ones over there.
Legislation covers race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, trans and intersex.
@FionaCraig Really appropriate that the supporters of this being a Christian country, should welcome steps that promote loving fellow humans and that stop hate towards vulnerable groups #sarcasm 🙄
If Rowling and Musk are criticising it, it must be a good thing.
@FionaCraig Canada used to have hate speech legislation, I believe it was discontinued under the Conservatives but don't quote me on that, it was certainly stopped with a lot of pressure from the right & alt right. I wish they'd try to bring it back. Great job Scotland!
