@dmakovec I'm not opposed to ubuntu having a "software is free, pay for support" model---the prophecied stallmanian utopia---I just don't like being nagged for any reason.
My main ubuntu machine is a beater laptop permanently docked on my desk as a build machine running jammy (22.04) which is the latest LTS. I changed to ubuntu as my default "I need a scratch linux box quick" boot stick when debian reached "useless on PCs because the wifi drivers are in non-free, so a freshly installed laptop has no network" but I'm tentatively changing back.
