@cferdinandi @brad_frost i personally still see this as a huge win (regardless of JS) –– almost half a million dollars for the development of a web component library is nothing to sneeze at

my bet is that kind of funding and attention will actually be a net-positive towards the adoption and subsequent evolution of web components (ideally towards a point where JS is not required)

@hawkticehurst @brad_frost Is it great that is uses Web Standards? Sure! At the end of the day, is it still just another JS-heavy library that would be better handled with plain old HTML? Also yes.

@hawkticehurst @brad_frost It's a "spirit of it" thing for me. The spirit of this project is JS-rendered UI. That is uses native Web Components is, frankly, just an implementation detail.
