That's kind of weird. Victim run off? Driver hallucinated?

LAFD: Pacoima Train vs Pedestrian; INC# 0608; 10:48AM; 11321 N San Fernando Rd; https://bit.ly/3QedrMO; Metrolink inbound passenger train reportedly struck one female pedestrian in the vicinity of San Fernando Road and Jessie Street, then continued a short distance before coming to an emergency stop. No apparent patient or fatality found. No reported injuries to train crew or passengers; LAFD personnel assisting with deboarding of train.

@exador23 Most likely the pedestrian wasn't actually hit. Similarly to a truck driver, the train driver can't see the front of the train down where a pedestrian would be hit. Given the relative weights of a pedestrian and a train, they also can't feel an impact.

When I witnessed a person jumping in front of a London Underground train, the train driver and I had very different perceptions of the incident because of the different angles of view.

@mjausson @exador23 Possible. Either that, or the patient was hit and traveled a much longer distance than they thought. If I were LAFD I'd do a secondary search in a much wider area to make sure they didn't miss the patient. My son (the paramedic) had seen this happen at least once. Report by initial crews of "motorcycle down but no patient located" and they went out there and walked 150 feet farther and found the victim.
