MCAS (particularly when combined with being autistic) gives you the ability to smell everything which sounds like a superpower, but I can assure you is absolutely vile.

Thankfully my new meds seem to be really helping. Ian opened a new packet of lightly scented dog poo bags last night and I didn't immediately eject them from the house, so I'm calling this progress! :ablobcheer:

@Claydisarray I have this for other neurological reasons and it is horrible. Also creepy - it often smells like there's a stranger in the room with me when a smelly/ fragrant person has just passed by outside.

The only superpower element is that I can smell when people I know very well are sick or upset, but then there's finding a way to say "You smell weird - what's up?" without the risk of making a person feel worse (only dogs can get away with this). Glad yours is getting a bit easier.

@goldfish Wow! That's some ability - a shame you can't market it somehow! 😆
