If Apple didn’t already have iWork, Final Cut, or Logic, would they make them now? Kind of hard to imagine that kind of investment in new software from them. What even comes close in the last fifteen years?
@harpaa01 Yeah, but the kind of resources to make a Freeform are definitely modest compared to those others. That’s not a knock against it, but it’s no Logic or Final Cut or iWork.
@collin - I could imagine them investing in the iWork area, but not Final Cut or Logic.
Why iWork? I think there is a segment of customer that requires some iWork type capability, write letters or make a home budget sort of thing. These people would never buy an MS 365 subscription - too expensive. And LibreOffice - no way.
Why not Final Cut/Logic? Adobe would throw a fit and threaten to reduce their efforts on the Apple platforms. Apple do not want that to happen.
@ffg@eurobubba they might, although the lack of keyboard support on macOS kind of kills it for me. Either way I wouldn’t put the resources to make that kind of app remotely in the same category as Logic or iWork.
