@KentuckyConjurer@stina_marie I'm not a fan of Jessica Lange, but overall I really enjoyed the series. I think Joan Crawford's may be an impossible part to play for any actress, anyway. Her stage persona was so intricate, and it feels like at times there was no one behind her mask, and other times there were several different people underneath.
My mom watched all Joan's movies when I was a kid and I remember her being one of the scariest people on TV. It wasn't until I was older that I thought....hmmm maybe she wasn't faking it.

An hour later my idea of Joan Crawford the human was VERY different. And I can never look at wire hangers the same again.
(Faye Dunaway also forever is associated with Crawford for me, just like Davis is. She did an amazingly unhinged job in that movie 😂)
@KentuckyConjurer@stina_marie the funniest part about the whole Mommie Dearest debacle is the big, public blessing Crawford herself had given to Dunaway years before. Joan couldn't have imagined that one day Faye would have become a camp icon portraying her as a borderline monster 🥲
